Every year, people across the North East embrace Islam seeking truth, purpose and a deeper connection with their Creator.
But taking the Shahadah is only the beginning.
A new Muslim may face loneliness, family tensions, loss of friendships, confusion about religious practice, and a lack of support from those around them. What should be a beautiful beginning can sometimes become an overwhelming experience.
Who will be there for what comes next?

From Shahadah to belonging. We're there for what comes next.
Through ongoing support, the Islamic Diversity Centre helps New Muslims develop confidence in their faith and become part of a community they can call home.
Your support helps us provide:
Mentoring • Islamic education • One-to-one support • Resources • Classes • Social activities

Before someone becomes Muslim, there is often a conversation.
A question.
A misconception challenged.
A Qur'an picked up.
Or simply meeting a Muslim willing to listen.
IDC takes Islam to the community.
Through Dawah stalls and outreach, we create opportunities for people to ask questions about Islam openly and honestly.
We help people see Islam differently.
Our public exhibitions create accessible spaces where people from different backgrounds can learn about Islam, ask questions and challenge assumptions.
At a time when anti-Muslim narratives and misconceptions about Islam are increasingly widespread, creating opportunities for education, dialogue and real human connection is more important than ever.
Through initiatives such as Jesus in Islam, Discover the Qur’an and Ask a Geordie Muslim, alongside wider conversations around Muslim beliefs and practices, we give people the opportunity to hear about Islam directly, ask the questions they may never have had the chance to ask, and engage with Muslims in an open and welcoming environment.
We are here to help replace misconceptions and stereotypes with understanding, conversation and connection.
IDC delivers educational programmes and engagement in:
Schools • Workplaces • Public spaces
In a world where misinformation about Islam can spread quickly, we believe people should have opportunities to learn, ask difficult questions and engage with Muslims directly.
Understanding begins with a conversation, and we are on the front line to do this work.
Sometimes one booklet can begin a much bigger journey.
Your donations help IDC develop and distribute Dawah and educational resources to people who want to understand Islam.
They also help us provide New Muslims with materials that support them as they begin learning their faith from reading an English translation of the Quran, booklets on how to pray to guided prayers mats.
Our work doesn't stop when this campaign ends.
New Muslims still need support.
Dawah still needs to happen.
Questions still need answering.
Communities still need engaging.
BE MORE THAN A DONOR.
BE A PARTNER IN DAWAH.
THIS IS YOUR SAQADAH JARIYAH.

"The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [his reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing." Qur'an, Surah Al-Baqarah (2:261)
Donate today and make your support an ongoing Sadaqah Jariyah.
