For the first time ever, 10 000 Uyghurs are offered a helping hand, making a significant difference in their lives.

The Uyghur Mosque is a registered charity that has been working alongside the Uyghur Rights Advocacy Project to assist in this project. In response to the genocide perpetrated against Uyghurs by Beijing/China, the Canadian government has committed to welcoming 10,000 vulnerable Uyghur refugees. The passage of the historic motion M-62 in the Canadian Parliament was the first step of many to make this project come to fruition.

The funds raised will play a pivotal role in aiding 10 000 Uyghur refugee applicants throughout their documentation process. This critical support will help bridge language and cultural barriers, ensuring that each individual's resettlement journey is as smooth and successful as possible. Your contribution directly contributes to building brighter futures for these refugees in Canada.

The application process is tedious and very heavy in legal jargon. For many of the applicants, this becomes an obstacle. With the help of the team at URAP, we are supporting the wages of Uyghur speaking workers to assist the refugees in their application to streamline the process. The work has started, but unfortunately budgets have run low as it costs thousands of dollars per month for each employee. Our goal is to have 10 full-time staff to assist in this project, and this Launchgood campaign would assist in doing so.

Uyghur people around the world have been victims of transnational repression. For the first time in history, a country has stood up to publicly accept Uyghur refugees as a result of China's tyrannical treatment to the group. This process requires attention and support, as many of the Uyghurs struggle to access such opportunities.
