Asc my name is Ruqiyo, and I am the sister of Yusuf Xasan Mire, Rahimahu Allah. This Ramadan is especially difficult as it marks the first one without my beloved brother, Yusuf, who passed away seven months ago. 

Yusuf was a giver—he had a big heart and found true joy in seeing others happy. In his memory, I want to honor him through sadaqah jariyah, an act of ongoing charity that will continue to benefit him in the hereafter. I am grateful to share that MATW Project has agreed to partner with me in this mission, helping to raise funds to build wells and mosques in his name. This project will provide clean water and places of worship for those in need, ensuring that my brother’s legacy of kindness and generosity lives on. Ramadan is a month of mercy and multiplied rewards, making this the perfect time to give. 

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever guides someone to goodness will have a reward like the one who did it, and when a person dies, all their deeds end except three: ongoing charity, beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who prays for them.” (Sahih Muslim) It was also narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “There is no day on which the people get up but two angels come down, and one of them says, ‘O Allah, give in compensation to the one who spends (in charity),’ and the other says, ‘O Allah, destroy the one who withholds.’” (Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim) I am reaching out to ask for your support—every donation, no matter how small, will contribute to this noble cause and be a source of blessings for him and for everyone who gives.
