السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
We pray that you are in the best of health and Imaan, In Shaa Allah. We are honoured to announce a collaboration between Maison Al-Muhajabaat and Project Al-Akhawaat, a beautiful initiative founded in Ramadan 1447 by a young sister, with the mission to inspire and support our sisters in covering as they should, while helping those in the most dire need – particularly sisters who are forced to conceal their hijab due to various circumstances.
This partnership aims to provide high-quality, durable Khimars and Niqabs to sisters who may not have the means to purchase them or access such items otherwise. Through this collaboration, we will also offer subsidies to those who face financial difficulties.
Important details about this project:
High Priority:
•Muslim prisoners and their families or families significantly affected by the ‘War on Terror.
•Sisters who own no articles of modest clothing and cannot afford to purchase at any price point.
•Homeless sisters – Women experiencing homelessness, whether due to domestic violence, financial hardship, or other circumstances, who need modest clothing.
•Women escaping forced marriage or honor-based abuse.
•Domestic Violence due to practicing Islam or observation of the hijab/niqab.
•Sisters who wish to cover correctly but aren’t able to afford to do so due to their limited financial situation.
•Reverts less than 3 months.
•Refugees (pending status).
•Orphans or sisters in foster care.
Medium Priority:
•Sisters with medical conditions/disabilities – Those unable to work or struggling financially due to long-term health conditions.
•Victims of theft/disaster – Those who lost their belongings due to theft, fire, or other disasters.
•Refugee approved status (unable to work).
•Sisters looking to improve their hijab without the means to do so.
Lower Priority:
•Single mothers on universal credit.
•Widows or elderly women in financial hardship – Sisters who are unable to work and are living in poverty.
•Sisters who have damaged or old items and cannot afford to replace.
Transparency of Fund Allocation: The funds raised will primarily cover the cost of Khimars and Niqabs at significantly reduced rates, as well as the shipping expenses. In the future, we hope to expand this initiative to include all types of Hijab, Khimar, Niqab, and Jilbab to encourage our sisters to wear the correct hijab.
These funds are entirely an anmaanah and will be independently managed by myself. Allocation and will be mutually agreed between 3 trustees including Maison Al-Muhajabaat and Al-Akhawaat project to ensure fairness.
We ask Allah to accept this as an act of Sadaqah Jariyah on our behalf and yours, and may it weigh heavily on our scales on the Day of Judgment. Ameen.
BarakAllahu Feekum
