URGENT APPEAL: SAVE THE AL-FALAH CENTRE IN WEST DRAYTON

Assalamu Alaikum Brothers and Sisters. We trust this message reaches you in good health and imaan.

The Al-Falah Centre has been a pillar of support for our local community since 2009, offering prayer facilities for both brothers and sisters, as well as essential Islamic Education classes for our children. Unfortunately, we are faced with a significant challenge as we are being evicted from our current premises, an old manufacturing unit on St Stephens Road in West Drayton, by our landlord, who intends to develop apartments on the site.

With rising rents in the area, we find ourselves at a critical juncture where we must secure a permanent freehold site for the Al-Falah Centre to ensure its sustainability. Owning a permanent site will not only safeguard our current services but also empower us to expand our community initiatives, such as offering an Islamic funeral service and a Nikkah service, Insha'Allah.

We have identified a promising location in the heart of West Drayton, on the High Street. This former Church offers almost double the capacity of our current site and comes with the added benefit of a nearby large car park. Securing this property is crucial for our community's future, but we cannot achieve this without your support. 

Alhumdulilah, this building is currently under offer by us, and we have put down a 10% deposit. However, we now face a pressing deadline to complete the purchase. The total cost of the purchase amounts to approximately £1.2 million. With the grace of Allah and the generous support of all those involved in this project, we have raised over £1,100,000 (including our 10% deposit). This puts us over 90% of our goal, leaving £100,000 remaining to complete the purchase.

However, we are now facing significant pressure to raise the remaining funds urgently. The landlord of our current temporary premises has issued notice to vacate the building. Additionally, we have a limited timeframe with the current owners of our proposed new site to finalise the purchase, risking losing the opportunity.

This means we have a pressing deadline by the end of Ramadan, to raise the remaining £100k.

Therefore, we are earnestly reaching out to you with a heartfelt plea to continue supporting this crucial project for our community. Your support can manifest in various ways, including:

• Making du'a for the successful completion of the purchase and conversion of the new site before we are evicted from our current premises.
