The Peace Centre launched the Covid-19 Emergency Food Parcel Team on Monday 16th March 2020 in response to the CoVid-19 lockdown.

We need your help to pay for our RUNNING COSTS! Rent, Utilities & caretakers salaries! All other staff are VOLUNTEERS!

So far we have;

1. Alhumdulillah, been extremely busy with parcels going out and deliveries coming in 7 days a week since Monday 16th March
2. Alhumdulillah we have had hundreds of phone calls requesting help & somewhere in the region of 1350 parcels have been delivered throughout the city and county.
3. Bought 4 more phones & 4 sim cards to help us cope with volunteers working from home calling up those who are elderly or vulnerable & self isolating. We have also invested in a phone system to help direct callers to the right people within our organisation.
4. Secured the free services of Leicester Black Taxis have offered as many taxis as required to deliver the parcels. We also have drivers & other volunteers who help with various different aspects of the running of this much needed service.
5. We are working with Masjid Umar, many charities, businesses & others to provide an efficient service.
