Dear respected brothers and sisters, Darussalam Education Centre, Blackburn is planning to expand its facilities to provide more room for prayers, children education and Islamic Educational Classes for women. We have an opportunity to invest our neighbourhood buildings (2 houses and backyards). Come and join our campaign to help raise these funds. 

As Phase 1 we are raising £250,000.00 for the purchase of these properties.

Darussalam Education Centre is a registered charity organisation and based in Blackburn, UK

Formerly a public house known as Seven Trees Public house it used to serve wines, spirits and entertain its clients in organizing and holding various parties involving alcohol and food. 

Alhamdulillah, with the help of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala, our small community of foresighted visionaries purchased this public house and developed into a Mosque & community education centre thus begin a new era in Blackburn, known as Darussalam Education Centre, also known as DEC, it is a community mosque in Blackburn, Lancashire in the United Kingdom of Great Britain. 

As well as being a Masjid, the institution is also an Education Centre hosting 100+ students for evening Madrassah. 

DEC aims to be "a service to the community in accordance to the teachings and strict adherence to the Quran and authentic Sunnah".

Prayers take place five times a day. Classes for children take place during the week which is known as Madrasah. 

We are the only Masjid in Blackburn which have a dedicated prayer hall for Sisters, regular Tafseer-ur-Quran classes for women. Sisters can join in any Salah including Jumah Salah. We are the only Masjid in Blackburn who organise Slatul-Eid in Open and host Muslim communities including families and sisters. 

DEC also holds classes for learning the Arabic language and to learn the meaning of the Quran and Sisters Halaqa, Quran Classes 3 days a week. 

The institution also aims to provide education for the wider community, not just Muslims. The aim is to ensure community cohesion. This has been done before by holding English language classes for high school children, along with an organisation called Women's Voice thereby providing an important role in education and nurturing of our future generations. 

The evening Madrasah (Maktab) supplementary school is probably the most important medium of imparting Islamic education to most of our children in these days. 

Darussalam Education Centre is a unique Islamic Centre that tackles serious issues such as domestic abuse, drug addiction and antisocial behaviour and counselling service.

The centre is not a traditional school like many in this town but in a broader sense, it is a progressive Islamic and cultural guidance centre, which is aimed to cater something for everyone in the society with the emphasis on the youth and the children”. 

During COVID we were able to expand our services and and renovated existing facilities with the blessing of Allah Subhanahu wa ta'ala and great efforts from brothers and sisters. 

This existing facility is falling short as, Alhamdolillah during Jumah and Ramadan-ul-Mubarak we struggle with space. 

Now there is an urgent need to make Masjid Darussalam future proof. We have an opportunity to expand by purchasing 2 adjacent properties and yard linked to them. 

Price of these 2 properties and back yard is £250,000. We have assigned this phase of acquisition of these properties as phase 1. 

Alhamdolillah, we are starting this campaign from the month of Sha'aban  and to continue through Ramadan-ul-Mubarak till the month of Dul-Hijjah.

The Prophet (peace & blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him likewise in Paradise.” [Sahîh al-Bukhârî and Sahîh Muslim]

The Prophet ﷺ was asked, "Which charity is the most beloved to Allah?"

He ﷺ replied, "The charity that is given from the hard-earned money of he who has very little money. And begin by giving charity to those who depend on you" [Reported by Abū Dawūd].​

Who is it that would loan Allah a goodly loan so He may multiply it for him many times over? And it is Allah who withholds and grants abundance, and to Him, you will be returned. (The Holy Quran, 2:245)
