Bangladesh Floods Emergency

Flash floods in Bangladesh have left 4 million people stranded. 

Many homes and livestock have been washed away leaving hundreds of thousands in desperate need. 

Approximately 4.5 million people have been impacted by the floods, which have submerged hundreds of homes, leaving many residents stranded on rooftops, according to the Disaster Management Ministry of Bangladesh.

Heavy rain and landslides have resulted in hundreds of deaths, millions of displaced, and severely damaged infrastructure across South Asian subcontinent. 

While flooding is common during the monsoon season, as of Thursday, Bangladesh’s Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre reported that water levels in 11 rivers have exceeded the "danger level."

Right now, families are stranded, hungry, and desperate for assistance. Roads, homes, and farmlands are submerged, with floodwaters reaching rooftops in some areas.
