Celebrate Black History!

Muslims must stand up for justice for all, but should start with their own brothers and sister's first!

Our Prophet (SAW) taught us centuries ago there is no room for racism in our religion. As his followers we must make these teachings into actions! Too often our black brothers and sisters fall victim to discrimination from within our own ummah and do not receive suitable support they need. Despite serving all Muslims and followers of orthodox Islam, our masjid is often over looked for financial backing. Take part in assisting us and affirming that Black Muslim Lives Matter!

A Historic Community

Current Situation

Our masjid is more than fifty years old, the building itself has become structurally unfit. There are broken support joists in the roof, insufficient insulation, electrical wiring not meeting safety codes, corroded plumbing, inadequate heating, ventilation and air conditioning system, and interior walls compromised by mold from decades of poor insulation and moisture penetration.

More than a Masjid

Despite meager means, Masjid Al Islam provides food, clothing, life counseling and endless assistance to transform the lives of countless indigent and underserved residents of downtown Dallas. Each year we've assisted over 26,000 people and more than 500,000 since we began! Our community efforts have been recognized by the Dallas Morning News, civic leaders, and we’ve also received the Dallas Peace and Justice Center Peacemaker of the Year Award for 2016 and a visit to the White House!

Our Friday Jummah's are packed serving en every increasing amount of Muslims who live and work in Dallas. In order to continue to provide a place for Muslims to pray and enjoin good to others our current facility needs to be updated.

We need a new masjid/center that not only accommodates our maximum capacity Friday services, and daily worship, but our ever-expanding community services. We hope to expand our services to include career and medical services as well as and to assist more than 50,000 people every year!
