Sponsor A Brick: Help Us Build and Expand A Quran School in Sheikhupura, Pakistan

What is the project?

We need your support to build and expand the Yaseen Madrissa-tun Nisa Quran School for female students. We are currently working to build a two-story building that will host a Quran school, and teach sewing skills to students so they could learn a profession to earn a livelihood upon completion of Quran education from Yaseen Madrissa-Tun Nisa Quran School. We also need a free Islamic library, and a multi-purpose space for prayers and gatherings. Through your generous donations, we will be able to purchase a large portion of land for the school and we are ready to build the 2nd floor. 

Due to the increased number of students being enrolled, we need to expand the 1st floor. This will allow us to accommodate well over 400 students. Furthermore, we will build a 2nd floor where a sewing school will be established to allow students to learn a valuable profession. This will financially support the students and their families because most of the students come from poor backgrounds.

This project will allow us to double the space from 200 sqm to 450sqm.

Our story started in 2017 when we decided to build a 200 sqm Quran School as the area did not have any Quran school for the girls. A spark to learn, memorize and understand the Quran was ignited in the community. Despite the ongoing pandemic, this number has grown to over 180 Huffaz, Tafseer, and Nazra students to date!

Our institution welcomes students on a full-time basis: students are expected to memorize the Qur’an and also study the Arabic language, hadith, fiqh and Islamic etiquette. Students often come from neighboring villages to learn The Quran.

The multi-purpose facility houses the following services and spaces:

• Dar al Quran provides educational programs and community gatherings for women and children
• Full-time hifz program for girls, Friday classes for female youth, and community programs
• Musallahs for girls to deliver education and community programs, and prayer spaces
• A library
• Dedicated women’s social room
• Holding of Eid Prayer for women

With your generous contributions Insha’Allah, we plan to do the following:

1. Build a 2nd floor where sewing machines will be placed to teach sewing skills to students, enabling them to learn a livelihood for themselves and their families upon completion of Quran education
2. Expand the area of the 1st floor to accommodate a large number of students
3. Refurbish wudu area
4. Support and subsidize students who need financial assistance
5. Hire, train, and retain Quran teachers from the local community

Allah subhanahu wa ta-ala says in The Quran: "Those who spend their wealth in Allah's way by night and by day, secretly and publicly - they will have their reward with their Lord. And no fear will there be concerning them, nor will they grieve."  

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, like a sparrow's nest for Allah or even smaller, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise."
