It is necessary to dig more than 1,000 feet to find clean drinking water. Usually built in the coastal regions of Barisal and Khulna divisions as well as the mountainous high lands of Sylhet and Chittagong.

One tube well at a house can serve 10 to 20 families - the community share tube-wells.
