This campaign seeks to build a water well in Yemen, which will provide about 1,000 families with clean, safe water.

The devastating conflict in Yemen has led to what the UN describes as the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. Around 80% of Yemen’s population is in need of humanitarian assistance, including over 4 million internally displaced persons. 

Those displaced by the conflict live in camps with limited access to clean, safe water. This has led to outbreaks of polio and cholera, which are having a ravaging impact on the children living in these camps. 

With your donation, there’s hope! IDRF is building several wells in two camps that have been hard-hit by these outbreaks. This campaign seeks to fund at least one such well.  

Water is essential for hydration, hygiene, and agriculture. 

When God’s messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked which charity was best, he replied, “[providing] water.” 

Also, water wells are a form of continual charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), meaning that you can continue to reap the rewards for years after they’re built. This makes it an amazing opportunity to amplify your reward this Ramadan!

The displaced people living in these camps need this water. They need your support! Please donate generously, and please be sure to share this initiative with your friends and family, remembering that “whoever guides someone to virtue will be rewarded equivalent to the person who practices that good action.” (Muslim)

Any funds raised over the target will go towards building more wells in Yemen or towards similar IDRF initiatives around the world.
