Indeed, all praise belongs to Allah and we ask him for his divine guidance and forgiveness. 

Insha'Allah, we are about to witness another Ramadan in matter of weeks and I pray that, May Allah provide us with an opportunity to witness this Ramadan and allow us to take a full advantage of this golden opportunity to do good deeds.

O believers! Fasting is prescribed for you—as it was for those before you—so perhaps you will become mindful of Allah.

Surah Al-Baqarah: 183

For a believer, the Ramadan is a blessed opportunity to accelerate himself or herself in doing righteous deeds during the day in the state of fasting, standing in prayers at night, reading Qur'an, giving charity, building good habits and staying away from the bad habits. May Allah allow us to do as many good deeds and provide us with strength and determination to exceed in those acts.

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: When the month of Ramadan begins, the gates of the heaven are opened, the gates of Hellfire are closed, and the devils are chained.

Sahih Al-Bukhari: 1899

Ramadan at Cass Mosque

By the permission of Allah, each year Cass Mosque arranges Taraweeh prayers, and community Iftar every day of the month of Ramadan. Iftar at Cass mosque has become a symbol of a unity, equality and brotherhood/sisterhood to our diverse community in the heart of Detroit. It represents that, all believers are brothers and sisters in Islam.

At Cass Mosque, as many as 100~140 brothers and sisters for Iftar everyday on an average. 

As Ramadan approaching within next weeks, we have already started preparations for planning and execution of Iftar program of Ramadan 2025. We welcome you to participate in this very activity and earn immense rewards by contributing your efforts as a volunteer and/or financially in the fundraising campaign as well as spreading the word around.

Ramadan 2025:

It was narrated from Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:  “Whoever gives food for a fasting person to break his fast, he will have a reward like theirs, without that detracting from their reward in the slightest.”

Sunan Ibn Majah 1746 | Grade:  Sahih (Darussalam)

For planning and execution of this year's Ramadan Iftar activity, we have estimated that we will require 1400 USD each day to provide a wholesome amount of food as well as required supplies for approximately 140 people.

Which generally includes:

• Fruits, dates, bottled water, mango drink to break the fast,
• A dinner which includes one main dish of rice and protein, salad, side dish and
• A sweet (Baklawa / Kunafa / Cake / Pastry)

That puts our budget for 30 days of Iftar expense to be at 42,000 USD. (i.e. 30 days x 1400 USD) 

Alhamdulillah, each year with the help of Almighty Allah, a significant number of generous brothers and sisters come forward extending their helping hands to achieve the target and successfully execute the Iftar program.

Alhamdulillah our Iftar program has been regularly sponsored by muslim community organizations and individuals that reduces the total amount of money we need to raise from LaunchGood alone. Each time we get sponsorship and/or contribution via check, cash or online payments, we will update our fundraising target on LaunchGood and the names of individuals/organizations in the calendar.
