The Central Illinois Mosque and Islamic Center is Champaign County's only masjid, serving the residents of Central Illinois. Once a year, the masjid seeks donations to support the full year of activates and services. The masjid seeks support for its Annual Ramadan Fundraiser Drive.
The masjid provides all of the daily prayers, two jummah prayers each week, several eid prayers each year and, as needed, janaza prayers.
The masjid provides educational services and activities for individuals of all ages, from a weekly Sunday School that has taught children since the masjid's creation, classes for reverts to Islam, series' on topics such as fiqh and hadtih, family nights, youth group halaqa and youth social activates, fitness classes, seminars on a variety of topics, and more.
This Ramadan, the masjid offers nightly taraweeh prayers for the whole month with an extensive child watch program, a Quran competition, pre-Ramadan planning events and will conclude with Eid festivities for the whole family.
The masjid is also active in local dawa activities, from a weekly dawa booth at the farmer's market to regular visits to prisoners to participation in a multitude of interfaith activities with other local religious organizations.
The masjid employs a full-time Imam and a full-time Quran instructor, as well as a masjid manager and additional support crew. This allows the masjid to provide support collectively to the community as a whole and individually with such services as marriage contracts and family conflict resolution.
The masjid also provides support to the University of Illinois' Muslim Students Association, which is the oldest MSA in the country. The masjid is located on campus and is the location for many MSA events and meetings throughout the year.
The Central Illinois Mosque and Islamic Center is a US and Illinois not-for-profit organization operating in compliance with Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. The US Federal ID number is: 31-1281758.
