Many Muslims in the UK have no family and they sadly die alone at home or in a hospice. This includes new Muslims who are elderly and have no hope of being honoured Islamically after their death by the close family and friends. Our aim is to make sure they meet their end with dignity, compassion, and warmth that only Islam can provide. Our support starts even before death, we will be there for them in their final moments through befriending and advocacy.

We have helped over 190 Muslims with complete burials during the deadly Covid-19 pandemic, May Allah have mercy upon them. Many people are struggling to make ends meet and cannot afford the basic essentials in life. The average burial in UK cost approximately £4,000.

We are receiving so many cases from the Muslim Community for the burial help! Burying a dead is Fard-e-Kifaya on Ummah. Collectively we need to facilitate it. We need your generous support to respond to these requests.

We offer Muslims in the UK a full burial service with an emphasis on the needy and newly converted. Cremation numbers in the UK are shockingly high and our mission is to avoid any Muslim being cremated. We need YOUR help to make this a reality and ensure all members of our society have access to this vital service.

Muslim Burial Fund been established and worked tirelessly since 2013 offering the burial support to the families. To date, over 400 burials have been supported and demand for our services are increasing. During the Pandemic we were receiving referral up to 15 burials a day. With your support we aim to be there for many hundreds more.

Befriending & Advocacy

Our Befriending and Advocacy Service engage terminally ill people and those reaching End of Life and enhance their quality of life. We provide a 1:1 person centred approach. We ask service users, referral agencies and family members to list 3 - 5 things they would like to achieve in the next 6 to 12 months. We explore how we can achieve this step by step. Who can help? How they can help?

People referred to our project are paired with a Befriender to support them with their personal, social and spiritual needs. Befrienders offer friendship and advocacy support to help the service user overcome issues and difficulties. Our relationship with terminally ill people and those reaching End of Life are based on trust and support.

All our Befrienders are given specialist training so that they can provide a quality service. Befrienders undergo a vetting process so that we at Eden Care can provide the service users the best possible health outcome.

Muslim Burial Fund and Eden care UK are a programme of 13 Rivers Trust, which seeks to support needy Muslims with burials, wills and legal declarations for reverts and National Muslim Burial Register. We provide pre-burial and direct burial support including the washing, shrouding, funeral prayer and the actual burial.
