Support the only American-Muslim Clinic fighting Coronavirus on the frontlines in South Los Angeles. Your donation will save lives!

As the nation grapples with a new reality where many are working from home and taking measures to isolate themselves and their loved ones, UMMA staff are tasked with being first responders putting their own health and well-being on the line for our community.

Thanks to supporters like you, UMMA is on the front lines in South Central Los Angeles ensuring our patients have accurate information and can continue receiving critical medical and behavioral health services in this crisis.  As the nation’s first and largest medical institution founded by American Muslims in collaboration with other faith partners, UMMA is responding to this national crisis much the same way it did when it was founded during the 1992 civil unrest; with compassion and ensuring dignity for all.

We understand that in today’s world, access to high quality health care is fundamental to our lives, which is why it can’t – and shouldn’t – simply stop. Safety net clinics, like UMMA, are on the front lines fighting COVID-19 (coronavirus) and play an important role in mitigating the spread of this pandemic.

What We Are Doing

  • Active screening and testing for COVID-19
  • Distributing free healthy food packages to families and individuals
  • Offering telemedicine to patients unable to reach our clinics

We are currently coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies in order to stop the spread of COVID-19 and remain proactive in our response to the virus. In order to continue to meet the growing needs of our community, we know it takes all of us, and are asking for your support.

As the existential threat of coronavirus begins to impact those most vulnerable, we will require additional supplies to help meet the immediate health, food, and water needs of our community. We have also begun testing for anyone that is showing symptoms and have incorporated telemedicine to treat patients if they are unable to reach our clinic.

To continue and expand our fight against Coronavirus, We have created a COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund to ensure we can provide critical and lifesaving care to our patients.

With your trust and continued support, we will provide urgent services to those Angelenos who are most vulnerable in this health crisis.  Donate now and help us keep our South Los Angeles community safe.

Our Mission

UMMA envisions itself as part of a larger network of institutions addressing the health and well-being of the underserved, mindful of the cultural, spiritual, social and economic realities that impinge upon them, and the traditional barriers to accessing care.

Our services, activities and governance reflect the Islamic values and moral principles which inspired our founders. These include the core values which are universally shared and revered by society at large: Service, Compassion, Human Dignity, Social Justice, and Ethical Conduct.
