The people of southern Lebanon, Beqaa, and Baalbek are facing unimaginable devastation. Since the heaviest bombardment since the 2006 war began, thousands of families have been forced to flee their homes with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Towns and villages lie in ruins, and the humanitarian crisis is escalating by the hour.

As of 13:00 PM (Lebanon time), the Lebanese Ministry of Health has confirmed the heartbreaking loss of 558 lives, including 250 children and 94 women. Over 1,800 people have been injured, and the toll continues to rise. The need for humanitarian aid is more critical than ever.

What’s happening:

• Mass displacement: Families are fleeing conflict zones with no time to prepare. Thousands are being housed in makeshift shelters, mainly in school buildings, where resources are scarce.
• Rising casualties: Every minute counts. The number of injured is overwhelming Lebanon’s medical facilities, which are desperately under-resourced.
• Immediate needs: The displaced need food, clean water, baby formula, diapers, blankets, kitchen supplies, and shelter.

Salam Charity is on the ground, working with Lebanon’s national disaster response committee to assess the situation and deliver urgent relief. We are focusing our efforts on the 42 displacement centres that have been set up across the country, but we need your support to scale up this response.
