Almost 30 years ago, Dulwich Islamic Centre & Mosque was founded by a small group of committed elders. It is at the heart of South East London serving a diverse community.

Alhamdulillah, Dulwich Islamic Centre & Mosque has been granted planning permission to create a new floor at the basement level with a new layout. The new design layout will provide a larger prayer area and space for other much needed facilities.

The building is in a poor condition and requires urgent updating, which is why we need to modernise with the new layout. This will give facilities to;

• Prayer area for women - as currently there are none
• Adequate space for teaching Quran, tafseer and fiqh classes Also, other facilities will be offered such as nikkah ceremonies and janazah prayers for the deceased.
• Expanded prayer space as we currently very short of space
• Adequate toilets and wadu/ablution facilities for brothers and sisters
• Visitor area for non-Muslims, guests and well wishers
• New stairs for fire escape which will also be used to access other floors

This Masjid is special to the locals as children are taught from the age of 5 to 16 Qur’an, Arabic and other Islamic sciences.

The community gathers together for monthly tafsir and fiqh lectures, other facilities are offered such as nikkah ceremonies and janazah prayers for the deceased. 

We even offer FREE counselling sessions!! 

The Messenger of Allah. (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever builds a mosque seeking the face of Allah, Allah has built a house for him in Paradise." (Sahih)

On the authority of Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, ‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him’. (Muslim)
