Every child has a right to receive an education. Quality education empowers underprivileged children to break the cycle of poverty and build a better future for themselves and their communities. Yet, according to the latest statistics, 26.2  million children in Pakistan are still out of school  - meaning 2 out of 5 children are not in school in the country. In the last few years, the education crisis in Pakistan has been exacerbated by the recent economic crisis and the aftermath of the 2022 floods. More families are unable to afford schooling and are compelled to push their children into child labor or early marriages.

For the last 29 years, The Citizens Foundation (TCF) has worked to bring the underprivileged children of Pakistan to school and empower them to dream of a better future. With a network of 1,900+  schools located in the most disadvantaged communities across the county, TCF is making quality education accessible to 286,000 underprivileged children in Pakistan today. Your Zakat, Sadqah, or donation of just $12 can support the education of a deserving child for a month. $144 helps TCF support the education of a child for one full year, covering the cost of 

• Books, learning materials, and uniforms
• Salaries and transportation for the teachers
• Staff training and field monitoring
• School maintenance and head office overhead.

TCF is Zakat eligible.

TCF uses Zakat donation funds only for Zakat-eligible expenses. Zakat money is utilized for meeting the educational expenses of deserving students, and it is ensured that Zakat collected is spent within the same year.
