This winter, families in Kech, Panjgur, and Waashiq, Balochistan, are facing not only harsh weather but also the challenges of food scarcity. With freezing nights ahead, many families worry about where their next meal will come from. But together, we can change that.

Our Aim

Together, we can make a life-changing impact for families in Balochistan who face harsh winter conditions and food insecurity. With your generous support, we aim to distribute 250 essential rations to help them get through the season.

Each ration pack, costing only about $30, will include:

• 2 KG of Basmati Rice
• 0.5 KG of White Channa
• 0.5 KG of Moong Daal
• 250g of Tea
• 250g of Salt

A Mother's Strength

Meet Gul Bano, a mother of five living in Panjgur. After losing her husband, she struggles to keep her children fed and warm. Her youngest child, only 3 years old, is battling malnutrition. Gul Bano says, “Every day is a fight, but I hold onto hope for my children.” Your donation can provide critical nourishment to Gul Bano's family and many others like hers.

A Farmer’s Dream

Ali Jan, a farmer  in Kech, lost his crop to this year’s harsh conditions. He shares, “Farming has always been my family's way to survive. But now, the land is barren, and we have no means left.” With your help, Ali Jan can focus on rebuilding his livelihood, while his family is sustained through this difficult time.

Children of Balochistan

Children like 8-year-old Ahmad walk miles to school, often on empty stomachs. “Ahmad dreams of becoming a doctor one day, but hunger makes it hard to study,” his mother shares. Your support will give Ahmad and other children a chance to dream again, with full bellies and hearts filled with hope.

Founded in 2015 by three LUMS alumni, inspired by their mothers’ 30+ years of running soup kitchens, Rizq was born to provide food during times of crisis. Rizq mobilizes and empowers individuals, businesses, foundations, media, government, youth, and grassroots organizations to fight the root causes of hunger and foster food justice, building self-sustaining neighborhoods and a better future for all.

 

Access to a stable, affordable, and nutritious supply of food in a respectable manner is the first challenge to a human’s honor and dignity, and the lack of food the first hurdle in a human's quest to reach their potential. One doesn’t have the luxury to progress if one’s stomach is empty. 

It is in this vein, that we are working to combat food insecurity, food wastage, and hunger at large to protect and advance the right to good food for all.

For this, we mobilize, connect and enable various stakeholders in the food ecosystem, including individuals, corporate, foundations, media, government, youth, grassroots organization and networks to fight the root causes of hunger, to promote food justice and create self-sustaining neighborhoods, communities, and life on earth.
