Battle For Survival: The Fight Against Food Insecurity in Pakistan and Yemen

Pakistan and Yemen are two of the most food insecure countries in the world. In Pakistan, an estimated 22.9 million people are food insecure, while in Yemen the number is even higher at 24.1 million.  With your donation of $50 USD it will feed six families for a week.

At Mercy Bakery, our mission is to provide food for those in need, especially in communities where hunger is a daily struggle. We have established bakeries in Pakistan and Yemen, where we bake fresh bread and distribute it free of charge to those who need it most. Can you imagine the struggles of not having access to something as simple as bread? How can we fight back against starvation?

The Need

According to the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization, an estimated 38 million children under the age of five are suffering from acute malnutrition. This is a grave statistic, and one that should bring considerable attention to the food insecurity problem in Pakistan and Yemen.

It is a shocking truth that over 70% of children in both Pakistan and Yemen are food insecure. This means that these children have inadequate access to affordable and nutritious food, compromising their physical and mental health.

Humanity for Relief and Development (HRD) is a non-profit organization founded in 2015. We were formally registered as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization in 2018. Since our inception, we have provided relief and development assistance to thousands of families in Yemen. Our goal is to help those in need and make a positive impact on the lives of others.
