Campaign Objective​

Ethiopian and Eritrean university students in the greater Washington, DC area are supporting the refugees in this crisis.

Our organizations are devastated by the recent violence in the Tigray region of Ethiopia that has created tens of thousands of refugees and escalated into a regional humanitarian crisis. We have set up this fundraising campaign in an effort to support the large influx of Ethiopians and Eritreans seeking refuge in Sudan. Please share this fundraiser and help us reach our goal for providing immediate aid and support to those in dire need. We need your help and appreciate all contributions.​

Ethiopia Crisis

A sudden escalation in conflict has broken out in Ethiopia, centred
around the Tigray region  near to the borders of Eritrea and Sudan. Now, another urgent threat to life has emerged.

The severity of the conflict has threatened the lives of hundreds of  thousands of people, many of whom were already vulnerable.

A huge number of those affected were already refugees or internally
displaced by the recent floods, natural disasters and regional
conflicts.

The accounts of the horrors they have seen are beyond description. They 
have experienced the worst that a human being can possibly witness. 
Traumatised, they need water, food, and 

medicine, but they must also  receive our care and kindness. We must show them humanity and restore  their hope and spirit.

What is the need?

Right now, we need to give people essentials to survive. We must do
everything. We must give aid to those arriving now and prepare well to
receive those who arrive tomorrow.  We can keep them alive and well. 

Ethar is providing shelter, water,  food and medicine. This includes basic
preventative measures to stop disease outbreak, such as mosquito nets to put around children as they  sleep. Please donate all you can to save lives.

About Ethar Relief

We are a UK-registered charity established to help refugees, displaced and disadvantaged people in Yemen and the Horn of Africa. Ethar Relief was
set up more than a decade ago by former refugees from Eritrea who were
liberated from refugee camps in East Sudan. We want to end the suffering
 that we know exists in these places.
