An introduction

Rescue Orphans is a programme of 13 Rivers Trust and Sylhet Aid.  Our aim is about continuing the good work of our elders by providing support to the most needy. Losing a parent(s) can mean that security at home, food, medical care and access to an education is very difficult. 

In Bangladesh, 5.8% of the children below 18 years have lost either one or both parents. Almost 4 million children are orphans, with half of them living in extreme poverty. The responsibility of care for the orphan falls on all of us. Rescue Orphans operates within the greater Sylhet region.

Who could be more deserving of our help than the orphan child!

As an Orphan Helper I am raising money to improve the future of the orphaned child for future job and training, their marriages and building them a better and safer home.

Orphans livelihood programme -  £200

Our livelihood programme is designed to teach practical skills like how to

raise livestock, sew, irrigate the land, education and farm crops.  Orphans

will learn how to support themselves and generate their own income,

equipping them with practical knowledge and trade skills that are essential

for their survival in later life.

Muslim Marriage Fund - Sponsor a wedding for a needy family- £500

Marriage is the most beautiful and most blessed act which every young person

looks forward to in their life. Islam considers marriage a social obligation

that completes half of your deen.  A lot of needy couples are unable to get married due to the loss of their parent (s), and being disregarded.

Your donation will cover the full wedding costs of needy family. 

Build a house for an Orphan - Sponsor a orphans house for - £3,000

Orphans don’t usually have a home, as they mostly stay in other peoples homes

or orphanages.  If they do have a house it’s usually in disrepair. Help us

build a new house for orphans. Foster families will be recruited, trained

and vetted to take care of the orphan
