Update: Sunday, May 10th 

Phase 1 Distribution: We are excited to announce that phase 1 of our project for Ramadan 2020 has been completed! A total of 2,000 food packages have been distributed in and around the Gaza strip. We are humbled by the amount of support this campaign has been able to have, especially during such difficult times around the world. 

Efforts on the ground would not be possible without our implementing parter Middle East Children's Alliance (MECA). They have also upgraded the project by adding a whole chicken to each food package! 

Once again, we thank you all for your support and generosity. Please continue to spread awareness of this campaign. Thank very much to our partners PaliRoots, MECA, Shifaa Foundation, and the dozens of staff on the ground in Gaza making sure those in need have food this Ramadan.

Why It Matters  

• 68.5% of the population in Gaza are food insecure. 

According to the World Food Programme, nearly one-third of the population - 1.6 million people – do not have the means to afford nutritious food, humanitarian assistance has prevented the food security situation from deteriorating further. Food insecurity is high among women – 32 percent of families headed by women are food insecure – and particularly in the Gaza Strip, where it peaks at 54 percent.
