I AM HUNGRY!
This is the cry of thousands of poor people in South Africa. Naqshbandi Muhammadi Order of South Africa has been running feeding programs in impoverished areas for 15 years. We normally provide meals to 3,000 poor people daily every Ramadan. For the past year, as a result of the dire need, we are feeding up to 10,000 poor people daily. This translated into over 2.5 million meals served by us since April 2020 to the poor and needy which include orphans and the elderly. It costs us just $0.16 to feed 1 poor person daily. So for $1 we can serve 6 meals.
Zakat, Sadaqah and Lillah are accepted. 100% donation policy. Every cent we receive will be spent on feeding the poor.
RAMADAN 2021
This Ramadan we are maintaining our extended feeding campaign in South Africa and Malawi.
This program requires huge amounts of ingredients, for example 2.5 tons of rice per month, 7.5 tons of legumes per month, 4 tons of meat per month, 3 tons of samp per month, to name but a few. Some of these ingredients have been donated by generous donors. We do, however, have a shortfall. We have calculated our costs to run this program for the rest of the year and our shortfall amounts to approximately $50,000.
UPDATES SINCE THE START OF THE FEEDING CAMPAIGN:
1. Alhamdulillah, three feeding recipients accepted Islam in Eastridge (near Cape Town).
2. Shaykh Shamiel da Costa: "It brings tears to my eyes, how Allah is opening up the hearts of people."
3. Manenberg recipient on the first day of Ramadan: "Jazakallah (thank you), I am so grateful. I didn't have anything (to eat) for iftar."
4. Kayamandi cook: "Very humble program, people are happy and very thankful. More people are coming for food. The food is very good and nice, they are happy. Children being fed have nothing (to eat) at home. The community is happy with the kitchen. We are feeding people every day and we are experiencing more children and we have asked for more volunteers to assist us with cooking, cleaning, feeding and giving love to children. Thank you so much."

6. Another shahada! Alhamdulillah, the granddaughter of one of our cooks embraced Islam.
7. Alhamdulillah, a 90-year old lady became Muslim at our feeding site in Delft, Cape Town.
8. Due to the dire need we are now feeding over 10,000 poor people every day. Thank you for your generous donations.
9. Our feeding program continues after Ramadan. We estimate it to carry on until at least November 2020 due to the effects of Covid19.
10. We have served over 2.5 million meals since April 2020.
11. Our feeding campaign continues into 2021. The need is still there. Please continue supporting poor people in South Africa and Malawi.
COVID-19 CRISIS = MORE HUNGRY PEOPLE
We are finding ourselves in unprecedented times. We could never imagine that we find most of the world in lockdown. This COVID-19 virus has caused us to look at life, the way we know it, very differently.
Many people in impoverished communities have lost their jobs or have seen drastic reductions in their income. People are desperate. They are hungry. They need our help or will face starvation. Some people have resorted to looting due to the dire need. Our people will be helped out of desperation by your donation.

Our feeding campaign is showing no signs of abating. The need is still there. Covid-19 is still having a substantial impact on people's lives and livelihoods.
We thank you for making a difference. Thanks to you, poor people are being fed every day at feeding sites in South Africa and Malawi.

It now costs only $0.16 for us to feed one poor person a nutritious meal. Alhamdulillah, we have managed to reduce the cost of a meal substantially by amending our daily menu.
During Ramadan, we received tremendous support for our Feeding campaign being run in over 60 locations. And we thank you profusely for your generous donations. Since Ramadan, however, donations have declined significantly.
What has not declined is the need. In fact, it has increased significantly. And we intend continuing serving the poor until October 2020 or beyond. Our ability to do so depends on continued financial support. So, we appeal to you, our generous donors and supporters, to please continue donating to our Feeding campaign.
Two weeks ago, we served our millionth meal for 2020. Please help us serve the next million.
