Donate warm water and energy to the townships and villages of Africa

90% of the people in the villages of Africa have no access to energy such as electricity and clean cooking fuels. Fund the research and development of renewable energy technologies that will allow these people, as well as our local community, to have access to energy such as warm water, electricity, and cooking fuels. As we develop the technology it will be rolled out in our local community, the townships of South Africa, and eventually, move to the villages of Africa.

Why this cause was started (My life's purpose)

My name is Ridaa Manuel and I recently completed a course to discover my purpose and my highest values. These values include knowledge, innovation, and empowering others​. In a nutshell, my purpose includes building a completely off-grid system in the townships of South Africa and villages of Africa that will empower these people and allow them to reach their full potential as human beings. I have spent the last 10 years of my life amongst the people in these regions and have experienced their intense poverty. In 2016 I traveled to Malawi and experienced the stark reality of the energy access problem. I experienced entire villages and cities being in the dark, what it is to have a cold shower during a freezing morning, what it feels like to sit in the blazing heat with no fans or air-conditioning, and what it feels like when no water comes out of a tap when you are in dire need of it. These people experience this every day of their lives. I am a mechanical engineer by profession and I intend to use my knowledge and experience to change this situation. I am currently doing my Masters in Energy and through it, I intend to build a completely off-grid renewable energy system that is intended to assist in solving this problem. I founded Green New World as a vehicle to house this cause and I am starting this campaign to fuel this cause. I have now used up all personal funds to research and develop the technology below. The technologies we have developed are proofs that the greater vision is slowly being achieved. Help us realize the full vision. Technologies already developed (Free Energy Geysers)

We have already developed a free-energy plastic bottle geyser. This uses milk cartons and plastic bottles to access the free energy of the sun. No ​pumps are needed and therefore the energy obtained is completely free. Spreading this knowledge and this technology will allow millions of people to have access to warm water, due to it using resources that are all around: waste. It will also automatically result in the people in these townships and villages cleaning up their environment to build these technologies.

We have also developed a free-energy geyser and shower that uses wood, styrofoam, aluminium, and glass to heat water. This warm water can be used to shower and wash dishes. Every time I shower in this is Free energy shower I recall all the cold showers taken in Malawi and how the first thing I did when returning was stood with a heart full of gratitude under a warm shower. A luxury we will not understand the value of until it is taken away.

Technologies Intended to be developed (complete off-grid energy system)

Once these Free-energy geysers and showers are complete​ we will begin with the development of more low-cost technologies that allow us to access as many forms of renewable energy as possible. We will build technologies that access the energy of the sun, wind, bioenergy, waste, rivers, and other sources that exist in the regions of Africa. This includes biogas reactors that use animal dung to get methane for cooking and solar ovens that cooks food with the sun. All these technologies will be integrated to form a complete off-grid renewable energy system that will provide for all the energy needs in these villages and townships.

What your donations will be used for

It will firstly be used to complete our off-grid showers so that we may begin rolling it out in our local community and the towships of South Africa. We will use the fund to buy the materials and tools necessary to firstly complete this this project​. We will then continue to similarly fund the tools, equipment and machinery for our other projects that are lined up. Our ideal goal is to rent or buy a workshop in which we can manufacture this low-cost free-energy technologies. For each person that showers in warm water or has access to electricity in these regions, you would have played a major role.
