Our History 

Our humble beginnings are truly an embodiment of our everlasting identity.  The An-Nur Foundation was established in 1995 by 10 founding members who met at each other’s residence to pray in congregation, recite the Holy Quran, and form a union of the Muslim Ummah.  In 1996, with Allah's blessings & mercy upon them, these same members & their families successfully purchased a private property in the northeast part of Baltimore County. Thus Masjid An-Nur Foundation came into existence.  They quickly sought proper Non-Profit 501(c)3 designation with the US IRS and became a vested "House of Allah."

Twelve years later in 2008, Allah (swt) gave another blessing to the Masjid An-Nur community, a successful purchase of 4.4 acres of land, with an estimated construction cost of $4-5M.  Furthermore, in 2010, the foundation purchased the adjacent car dealership that was being liquidated by the Chrysler Financial Corporation for 2.75 million dollars.  Equipping the center with 38,000 sq ft of existing building space in several separate buildings.  As of today one of the buildings (5,000 sq ft) serves as the full-time musalla and academy.

Encompassing 51,600 square feet, the Properties provide an excellent opportunity to acquire top-quality, single-story office buildings in the heart of White Marsh Town Center. Alhamdulillah, we were able to acquire the building but it still needs work. Such as carpet, audio /video system, security system, Partition walls, Partition channels, window panels, Wudu area for men and women, HVAC replacement and some HVAC repair, Roof replacement, Building sign, Doors, Patch paint."
