In Gaza City, clean drinking water is dangerously scarce. Families are struggling to find safe water for drinking, cooking, and basic survival. With infrastructure devastated and water sources contaminated, the need for urgent relief is critical.
We are launching a three-month emergency water distribution project to deliver clean water directly to those most in need. Two water trucks will distribute 10,000 liters per day to communities facing extreme shortages. Our goal is to ensure that families, children, and the elderly have access to safe drinking water during this crisis.
We have budgeted $50,000 to sustain this project for three months. Each truckload of 5,000 liters costs roughly $300 per truck. That means:
💧 $30 provides 500 liters of clean water
💧 $150 provides 2,500 liters – enough for dozens of families
💧 $300 funds an entire truckload of 5,000 liters
💧 $600 ensures a full day of water distribution (10,000 liters)
Every dollar makes a difference. Your donation will help us reach thousands of people in Gaza City with clean, safe drinking water.
This is an urgent humanitarian response. Join us in bringing water to those who need it most. Every drop counts.
Thank you for standing with Gaza in this time of crisis.
*Note: The campaign image is taken from a water distribution project Glia participated in during summer 2024. Once we have an updated image of this project, we will update accordingly.
As soon as war broke out in October 2023, Glia responded immediately to the limited availability of essential medical supplies, such as tourniquets. Our office in Gaza manufactured and distributed over 1500 tourniquets before our office was destroyed in a bombing. Our team in Gaza was unhurt, and they continue to work in varying capacities within the healthcare sector, either with our polyclinic or by assisting our medical delegations. We are also returning to our previous work in 3D printing upper limb prosthetics.
Together with Islamic Relief Canada, Glia launched #PPE4Gaza in December 2019 to make and distribute personal protective equipment for healthcare workers in Gaza. Through the generosity of donors like you, we raised over $100,000, allowing us to respond almost immediately to the Ministry of Health’s need for PPE by 3D printing and distributing thousands of face shields. With the help of Medical Aid for Palestinians UK, we successfully shipped 3D printers and reusable respirators to Gaza so we could continue the work and increase local capacity.
In response to the bombardment of Gaza in 2021, Glia partnered with the International Development Relief Foundation to launch the Open Gaza Initiative, which will train and deploy engineers to refurbish and repair existing hospital medical equipment using cutting edge technology, such as 3D printing, local printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing, and use of desktop-scale CNC machines.
Two members of Glia, Drs. Benjamin Thomson and Tarek Loubani were also involved in EmpowerGAZA, a project that placed solar panels and batteries on four major hospitals in Gaza, providing uninterrupted power.
Our record shows that Glia’s team is committed to the health of all of those in need around the world and in Gaza.
*Glia will do its best to use your donation for the primary objectives of this campaign, however given the volatility of the situation in Gaza, we may direct it to where it is needed most.

Update #3
Hello friends,
Thanks to your incredible generosity, we’ve raised over $30,000USD toward our revised $55,000USD goal for our Emergency Water Relief project. With just $25,000 to go, we’re more determined than ever to reach the finish line.
Gaza is experiencing a water and sanitation crisis, with 70% of water lost due to damaged infrastructure.
Every day, our dedicated team in Gaza City distributes a minimum of 12,000 litres of clean water to neighbourhoods facing the greatest need. Your support has made it possible for families to access this essential resource amid incredibly challenging circumstances.
We couldn’t do this without you. Let’s keep the momentum going – please share our campaign with your friends and family to help us reach our goal.
With gratitude,
The Glia Team
Water Project Update #2
Hello friends,
Thank you again for your generosity in donating to this emergency water relief project. The impact has been immediate – every day since February 7, the team has been delivering 12,000L of water to thousands of Palestinians located around Gaza City.
On February 10, the team saw a public post on Facebook from displaced residents in the Tel Al-Hawa neighbourhood seeking fresh water. They responded immediately and have returned every day to distribute water to thousands in the area (roughly 2000 recipients per day).
For the past 15 months, the Israeli military has used water as a weapon of genocide, systematically destroying water sanitation plants. And for decades, only 6% of people in Gaza have had access to safely managed, piped drinking water due to Israel's siege and water apartheid. With the complete siege on the Gaza Strip and the intentional destruction of water infrastructure, the situation is truly critical.
Water is a human right & we hope to bridge the gap until local infrastructure is fixed.
Thank you again for your support.
Sincerely,
Dorotea Gucciardo

Water Project Update #1
Hello Friends!
Thank you so much for your support – both your financial donations and also the kind words left on our page. It really means so much.
We have officially launched the water distribution project in Gaza City! The project was kickstarted with $2000 seed money provided by Glia. With that money, the team secured dedicated trucks and a desalination station. Access to these resources is limited due to the scarcity of fuel needed for operations. However, we secured two trucks, each capable of carrying 6000 liters of water at the same price of 5000 liters.
Today, on Feb 8, one truck delivered 6,000 liters of fresh water to a school sheltering displaced people. Starting tomorrow, the supply will regularly be two trucks each day, which will bring 12,000 liters of fresh water daily to displaced families.
Due to weak internet connection, the photos shared aren't high quality, but I share them here with so much pride and gratitude for our team on the ground.
This is intended to be a short-term, emergency response project until water infrastructure is back in working condition. Every dollar – and every drop – counts. Thank you again for your unwavering support.
Sincerest regards,
Dorotea
