After providing a hearing aid and training for her, the little girl Rasha overcomes hearing loss and its effects.

Rasha could get through hearing loss that she has been suffering from for years after she had received a hearing aid and attended a series of trainings. The little girl has just turned nine years old and has left behind feelings of anxiety, fear, and shyness. Ahmad’s mother says that her son was born with hearing loss, which accompanied the child during his early years until she learned about the Aamal Center for Child Protection. Then, the child was registered and followed up by one of the center’s case managers, and a solid plan was developed to enable him to discover sounds and distinguish them in preparation for pronunciation. We have secured a hearing aid for the child, and with the cooperation from the parents' side with the trainers, we could save a lot of time. Thus, after a short period of time, Ahmad was able to form groups of words, start pronunciation, and enjoy the sense of hearing.

This week was exceptionally special as we could deliver 41 hearing aids to children with hearing loss who had been registered at the Aamal Child Protection Center in Idleb. With your distinctive gift, they will be able to attend school. It was more than just a hearing aid; your gift was also a language, a desk in the school, a new life and a lot more.

We would like to thank every hand that extended to us, every donor who responded to our call and brought happiness and joy to the life of an entire family by donating to secure a hearing aid. Indeed, you left a great and strong impact.

We continue our campaign hoping that we will reach the largest number of children with hearing loss to bring them into the spotlight at home, neighborhood and school because deafness is darkness of another kind, and we should not leave a single child there alone.  Let's be with them.

We are pleased to share with you the story of Ghalia in a photo report, showing her most beautiful state after fitting two hearing aids for her. Her life and the life of her family have really changed, and she surprisingly interacted with her surroundings. You can also feel the great joy that appeared on the face of her grandfather, who raises her after the death of her father, because she heard him when he called her.

Ghalia is one of the 500 cases that we identified during our field tours; these cases were lucky enough to get the chance to own the sense of hearing again. Heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this big change, to everyone who broke isolation, brought distances closer and changed the lives of 500 children for the better.

Many feelings and beautiful things will become a part of these children's lives such as music, cartoons, their mother's voice and their names. 101 children have become able to test their sense of hearing for the first time in their lives with your wonderful response.

This huge and great change is the result of the enormous hope and refusal to surrender to despair and silence. We have been all hand in hand, and you responded to every call we issued, which expanded the circle of hope and life that is filled with love.

During the past period, the protection teams were able to monitor the protection gaps, and assess and identify the children benefiting from the protection services in the centers spread in northern Syria, which are Aamal Center in Sharran sub-district, the Child Friendly Space in Azaz, Amal Center in Al-Bab and Al-Nour Community Center in Shammarin.

The wonderful first moments of hearing are only the beginning. The protection teams are constantly working to rehabilitate the beneficiary children so that they can integrate and speak faster with their peers. In a few months from now, there will be 101 children who will interact with sounds, be able to express their favorite things and also talk on the phone along with much more wonderful details of the everyday life.

Let us create more hope and more lovely days for the war children. Let us give them the great sense of hearing with your kind response.

Being a child means that every day is an opportunity for them to learn something new or take on an adventure, and this is what happened to the lives of 15 deaf children in northern Syria, where their lives began to gain meaning. Thanks to your response, the Protection teams of the Amal Center in SEMA have fitted 15 hearing aids that changed and gave a new taste to the lives of the little children.

 Your generous donations have expanded the circle of hope, and we are continuing to offer more hearing aids for our young children who suffer from hearing loss. We started to see the fruit of your empathy as we managed to fit hearing aids for 23 children in Aamal Child Protection Center, located in Idleb city. It is more than just a medical assistive device; it is a new way of life that will make the children with hearing loss capable of speech, learning, and leading their independent life like other normal children.

The great impact after having a hearing aid is indescribable. From now on, parents’ sadness will fade, and their constant worries about their children and about monitoring and protecting them all the time, simply because they cannot speak or hear, will also vanish. 

This tragedy has been part of the past as soon as you responded to their calls and heard their silence. We cannot find suitable words to express our gratitude for your humanity and delicate empathy. But wait, what about the rest who were not so lucky to restore their hearing? Are we going to stop here?!
