Star Community Volunteer Aspiring to Become a Lawyer

Hajja I. Kamara is a 24-year-old aspiring law student who makes a difference in her community every day through various community projects. Her involvement and work for organizations such as Project Downtown and CAIR Florida are what inspired her to pursue a career in law. She has applied to law school at Northeastern University and would like to complete a degree in law in order to help the community and make society a better place. Hajja has been accepted into Northeastern University school of law and has been applying for numerous scholarships to help pay her way through law school without incurring too much interest and student loan debt. 

Robbed of a Scholarship Opportunity

One of the scholarships that Hajja applied for was a $10,000 scholarship sponsored by Barbri School Review. Students wrote essays in order to be considered for the scholarship followed by an online voting process. During the online voting process, Hajja's story was shared throughout the Muslim community in various states and she quickly took the lead. Upon taking the lead, voting was suddenly canceled by the Barbri scholarship committee and the following message was sent out: 

Coming Together to Replace Hajja's Scholarship

Hajja was in the lead and about to win the scholarship when voting was suddenly closed. No one quite understands the committee's decision but winning the scholarship would have been Hajja's chance to start law school successfully without having to worry about the financial burden. Let's help this young lady succeed in her dream of pursuing a degree in law.

What happened to Hajja was not fair. She was robbed of a scholarship opportunity that should have been hers. Let's ban together as a community and help replace the lost scholarship for Hajja.

All of the funds raised from this campaign will go to help Hajja I. Kamara pay for her first year of law school.
