Hi! My name is Haneen.
I am the NorthWest Event Coordinator for Islamic Relief USA. After many years of working in relief and development support, I've seen firsthand how investing in a woman's potential pays off big.
IRUSA supports projects that benefit thousand of women and girls who deserve a better life. I'll be traveling to Jordan with Islamic Relief USA to visit projects like these that help Syrian refugee women and their families. I'll use this page to raise funds for the women who benefit from these projects. You can find more details about IRUSA's work in Jordan below. EMERGENCY RESPONSE / HEALTH AND NUTRITION
ACTIVE
IRUSA donors are helping assist approximately 40,000 Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians with primary, secondary, and tertiary health care, kidney dialysis, and health education. The health educational awareness sessions will spread awareness of common diseases.
The areas benefiting are Irbid, Ramtha, Mafraq, Karak, and Amman.
Safe Space Projects (Al Ramtha)
A safe place for women and children to go to for social services, training, and children activities. Design will be different from space to space. Islamic Relief also created two safe spaces for women and children in Mafraq and Ramtha in order to empower them and enhance their well-being through: • Providing psychosocial support and life coaching skills for women and children • Raising women’s awareness of gender based violence and child protection • Empowering women with sewing and handicraft skills as part of their capacity building and stress release.
