• The UMass Amherst and 5 College MSA's are helping Hampshire Mosque get started!
• This will be the closest Masjid to Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mt. Holyoke College, Smith College, and The University of Massachusetts Amherst. None of these schools have a masjid!!!
  
• This Masjid will, inshaAllah, be self sustaining as they plan to rent out spaces to retail businesses.

Youth Investing in a Community Mosque 

College is a time for intense intellectual and spiritual growth. What better place is there to nurture young minds than a grass-roots and community-funded masjid? Join us in helping our community, our congregation, and our future.

Hampshire County has a small but heart-filled Muslim Community that is quickly growing. Until recently, Hampshire Mosque has been leasing a space in town to hold daily prayers, salatul juma', and all the other needs of a community. Because of the space limitations, the community decided to purchase property that could accommodate the growing community. The Masjid has reached out to the UMass Amherst MSA for support -this is our way of meeting the call and trying to support our community. Help us make a Mosque for ourselves and the future of Muslim students who will attend these institutions! 

A Hub and a Home for College Students 

Home to the most educated state in America, Hampshire Mosque is in close vicinity to Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mt. Holyoke College, Smith College, and The University of Massachusetts and plans to work closely with the graduate and undergraduate students that attend these institutions. With a high concentration of intellectual women and students, this is an ideal hub to serve spiritually and socially. This is the only masjid in the area. Without it, many students are left without a place to pray juma', be with a larger Muslim community, and meet the needs provided my American Masaajid. 

A Self-Sustaining Initiative

After the renovation is complete, two portions of the mosque will be rented out to retail spaces as seen in the floor plan below. Those funds will help with regular expenses of the mosque such as utilities, taxes, and ect. Our hope is to help establish this space so they can quickly begin returning the favor to the community who generously invested in them. Join us, in helping the local community, other students in the area, ourselves, and the future of the Muslims in the 5 college area!
