Help us complete Masjid Bilaal Bedessa (Ethiopia)

What is this campaign about?

This campaign is to help to fundraise money for the completion of Masjid Bilaal located in Bedessa town in Ethiopia. Masjid Bilaal started its construction several years ago but due to the lack of funding and covid, it was put on hold. The mosque is already in use by the local community, however, it needs your help to weatherproof the building, install windows, carpets, and several other finishing and utilities. Not only will you be helping build a masjid, but a whole service center providing a madrasa and women-only facility. 

Young Children already use the facilities for their education but the building is not ready for use. There are a lot of dangerous hazards that need to be put right.

The Messenger of Allah (saw) said, ’When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him’. [Muslim] 

Contributing towards building a masjid is a Sadaqah Jariyah - a charity which you will continue to reap rewards from for as long as people use it. You will be gaining reward for all the duas, salah and Qur’an recitation which takes place within its walls, as well as for all the dhikr people recite as they walk to prayer and the daily wudu they make in preparation, subhanAllah! 

Another thing The Messenger of Allah (saw) said ‘Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in in Paradise’. What more can we ask for than a house in paradise?

Work is being completed very slowly this is due to a lack of funds to pay salaries and a lack of materials

If work is not resumed soon the place will fall apart and an opportunity will be lost
