Donate to assist a promising Australian student of knowledge to complete his education in Morocco.

Mohamed's Journey From Australia To Morocco In Pursuit Of Knowledge

A promising student of knowledge, Mohamed Acharki is currently studying the Islamic sciences with scholars, as well as the humanities at an Islamic University in Morocco. He will return to Australia in the near future to benefit the Australian Muslim community. We are in need of locally engaged scholars, native to the English language, addressing issues in a critical and creative way.  On behalf of Sanad Foundation, we hope supporting this student is the first of many to develop local scholars and thinkers, necessary to engage the wider Australian community. More information on Sanad Foundation is below.

Where Will Your Funds Go?

Your funds will help provide a scholarship for books, accommodation and tuition. Through Sanad Foundation, it will prolong students of knowledge to study and become grounded in both Islamic traditional and spiritual sciences as well as Western intellectual thought relevant for a contemporary Australian context.

Who Is Sanad Foundation?

Sanad Foundation aims to strengthen the connection between theAustralian Muslim Community and its Islamic heritage. It seeks to meet the educational and intellectual challenges facing Muslims in contemporary Australia by funding and developinglocal Islamic scholars, specialists and thinkers.

The Foundation took its first steps when localstudents helped fund a promising individual –Mohamed Acharki, seeking Islamic knowledge abroad. The money raised facilitated his study, allowing him toattain a higher proficiency in Arabic, memorise the Quran, study classical texts under licensed scholars, as well as various fields of the Islamic human sciences and contemporary thought.

The Foundation board members include Shaykh Abdinur Weli, Ramzi Elsayed, Ghaith Krayem and Maryum Chaudhry among others. The board will officially launch the Sanad Foundation and Fund inthe coming months. Its vision is to create a unified Australian MuslimCommunity connected to its Islamic Tradition, who positively contributes to the Australian society. We define Islamic intellectual tradition in its most comprehensive sense - both the strictly religious sciences as well as the values expressed in revelation to approach different fields of inquiry and practice including humanities, social sciences, business and other disciplines.
