Alhamdolillah, by the mercy of Allah (SWT), and with the help of your generous donations, we were able to purchase our new Masjid in October of 2019. We would like to take a moment to express our gratitude for your ongoing support of our new Masjid located at 400 Swift Street in South Burlington, VT.

Through the years, the Islamic Society of Vermont has made itself a very integral part of the beautiful mosaic that is the Vermont community. The story of this community is one of resilience, service, and unwavering empathy. As our once small, but mighty community continues to grow and expand, so do our needs and desires to build more for our people. The beauty of ISVT is the people from various backgrounds, cultures and regions, sharing same religion and everlasting experience of life. Everyone is always welcome to be a part of our community.

What do we do?

The Islamic Society of Vermont (https://www.isvt.org/) is a non-profit organization (Tax ID 03-0346526), established in 1995, by the efforts of a handful of members within the Greater Burlington area. Our diverse community includes members from all around the world, which has grown substantially over the years because of the influx of Muslim refugees from Bosnia, Iraq, Burma, Syria, Somalia, and Afghanistan. Currently, about 4,000 Muslims live in Vermont, and we have approximately 300 active members who regularly attend Jumma (Friday) prayers at our current location. In addition, as part of our mission, we run a Weekend Islamic School that offers Islamic Studies and Arabic language programs to our kids. 

We provide religious, charitable, mentoring, social, and educational opportunities for youth and adults according to the Qur’an and Sunnah to promote understanding of the Islamic faith, guidance, ethics, and history. We also provide interfaith programs that connect Muslims and people of other faiths in order to build mutual respect, understanding, lend a helping hand, and inform the values of religion and culture.
