In Loving memory of Samia, we're supporting the most vulnerable in slum tents of Dhaka
She was as bright as snow, and snow remained the favourite sign of her. A sweetheart to all, Samia Binte Sarwar used to give the tightest of hugs, and brightest of smiles. Her laughs would warm the hearts and souls of everyone around her. She was a beautiful soul who often buried herself in books, songs, loved Hogwarts and was a big fan of puppies. She came as the top of her class from early, obtained double Golden from science, and graduated with a stellar degree from IBA at University of Dhaka, one of the most competitive Business School in Bangladesh. All her loved ones had been waiting for so long seeing her in esteemed gown; that she walks in pride with mighty hat. There, she chose the cotton candy city sky.
24 August 2018
The loving Samia that we know is no more with us. She left this world by a deadly car accident, in 24 August 2018, right before her graduation ceremony. Samia Sarwar, the youngest in the family cherished us for 24 years, the life we had with her being in the centre of everything.
The Kind Soul
From a young age, she was always very kind towards the down trodden. While on a rickshaw ride one day with her elder sister she gave all her month tuition fees to a one-legged rickshaw puller, who was pulling them. Very little in her teen days she volunteered for deprived children. She used to say in her teen days “I don’t want to see any child sleeps at night hungry, deprived of education and healthy life. When I am rich, I’ll change their life”. Later she partook in awareness campaign for abused women during her academia. This is how she used to see her future for others. She supposed to live and to give so much. In a short-lived life, she proved to be a star. Now a Fallen Star. Her dreams for the betterment remain undone. Let us realise her dream.
Legacy Projects In Her Memory
In her loving memory, we want to launch the Samia Sarwar Foundation for a greater cause. To start with, we want you to join us together to raise £5000 for 100 families in need during this Coronavirus pandemic. Can we not make some of her dreams come true for others? The Bangladesh economy is being drastically crushed by the Covid-19 pandemic. The urban poor takes the hardest hit during lockdown. 10 million workers are dependent on their daily incomes, out of this number, 92% are women according to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics. The misery of some 7 million slum tenants across Dhaka, the capital city, is amplifying due to lack of daily jobs and price hikes of consumer goods. Pandemic crises results in hunger, frustration, uncertainties. People are mentally hunted down, causing domestic violence, committing suicide even.
Most slum tenants, living in different parts of the city, no longer worry about the virus but distress about hunger. Many do not have enough reserve food. Whatever little they have cannot save them from starvation and scarcity in the coming days.
Our aim is to help 100 destitute families with £50 each for them to survive for a month. They are carefully selected to make sure that the most needy deserving receive your donation.
**This is the official campaign for Samia, created by her sister, Sumaiya Sarwar**

Out Samia's campaign on The Daily Star
Watching our love on The Daily Star, coverage (page 3) this weekend. A heartfelt thanks goes to The Daily Star team for understanding her dream; for realising the need of the many; for standing beside. A sincere gratitude to the editor for leading and crafting the story for millions of readers. You all made this weekend so meaningful.
Sincerity; it speaks from the heart, for there’s a place you can hear it everywhere. Pandemic redundancy results in hunger, frustration, uncertainties. A small contribution from you can feed a family of five members for some time.

In her rememberance following are some words from those that cherish her in their heart:

~ Zarin Tasnim Khan, Doctor
"Samia was and still is the most gorgeous person I have ever known inside and out. Allah had not only adorned her with the most beautiful features imaginable, He had also blessed her with a heart that was second to none. She was as close to perfection as a person could get. " -Meherin Mushrekat, Solar Engineer
"RIP Samia Sarwar. You are one of the purest soul I have ever witnessed. May the freer of souls sets you free on the afterlife." - Rupol Nadim Rossy, Airline Pilot
