What is the Digital Sisterhood?

The Digital Sisterhood is a start-up that aims to unite and empower Muslim women by shifting culture. We do this by leveraging our experiences as Muslim women to respond to our collective problems, through authentic storytelling and by cultivating sisterhood.

Who is the Digital Sisterhood?

"Each episode has told me something I needed to hear at that time," - Cadar Mohamud, host of The Digital Sisterhood. 

The Digital Sisterhood was born during the pandemic in the bedroom of our CEO, founder, and host, and your sister Cadar. It started as a simple idea: a platform and podcast with the aim to unite and inspire listeners while countering pre-existing narratives of what it means to be a Muslim woman today through powerful, personal and emotive interviews and storytelling.

Since then TDS has come a long way. From a 1 person idea, to a humble team of 8 people wearing multiple hats, and now we've doubled in size to 16 team members - all working together to bring these stories and our organization to life.

It's not just about the numbers though; we've grown in quality too. We've brought on directors and department heads who bring a ton of experience to the table, helping us steer towards our goals with more focus and innovation.

We've set up an in-house production team to make sure we continue to deliver those amazing stories you’ve come to love and know. We're not just about growing our team; we're also about nurturing talent. That's why we've started internship and volunteer programs. These initiatives not only bring in fresh perspectives but also help people learn and grow with us.

Looking back at our journey since Ramadan 2021, it's been a wild ride. 

Over the first four seasons, TDS has had more than 15 million downloads in over 153 countries, 165,000 followers and 500 million impressions across social media, hosted sold-out events and retreats in North America, Europe, Australia, the Middle East and Africa, we’ve been nominated for a Shorty and Signal award (and won) and even earned the number two spot in podcast charts for the UK and the US going toe to toe with the likes of The Joe Rogan Podcast and Diary of A CEO. And even a Spotify billboard campaign across the UK. And it's not just online – we've been able to take our message around the world, connecting with diverse audiences everywhere in person.  

As we look ahead, we're excited about what's to come. Our achievements so far are a testament to the hard work and vision of our team. But more importantly reflects the needs of our community and global sisterhood.With our eyes set on the future, we're ready to keep making waves and driving positive change wherever we go.

Today, we stand as a testament to the power of determination and innovation, with our roots firmly grounded in the mission to uplift and empower Muslim women and ultimately please Allah.

The Digital Sisterhood (TDS) is raising funds to support the necessary resources for our sustainability. Our objective is to use the funds to continue fostering an environment where Muslim women can thrive, grow in their faith, and emerge as leaders in shaping a brighter future for our ummah.

• Our podcast counteracts pre-existing narratives that negatively impact young Muslim women.
• We utilize authentic storytelling to reshape perceptions and promote a positive, empowering image of Muslim women.

Supporting Growth and Sustainability:

• The funds will support the sustainability of The Digital Sisterhood's initiatives; and
• They will ensure the continuity of our podcast episodes to contribute to the empowerment of Muslim women.

Creating a Future of Authenticity:

• By empowering a generation of Muslims to unapologetically be themselves; and
• Inspiring Muslim women lead with authenticity, contributing positively to the broader Ummah.

1 X $800 USD: Supports cover art for a podcast season. Your support helps us enhance the visual appeal of our content, attracting more listeners and spreading our message further.

2 x $4,000 USD : Equivalent to one month of podcast production work at TDS. Your generous donation sustains our operations, allowing us to dedicate our time and resources to advancing our mission and serving our community.

Our campaign goal of $10,000 USD supports 2 months of production, four podcast episodes and art for eight episodes at the Digital Sisterhood.
