With the recent attacks in Gaza, residents has been left with safe access to water and sanitation. This Dhul Hijjah, Islamic Relief are dedicated to support Gazans to rebuilding their water systems providing access and improving the quality of water.

​Water, sanitation and hygiene are amongst the top humanitarian priorities in the Gaza Strip as the water resources are under considerable stress and demands exceed supplies. With the recent attack in Gaza, many people have been left displaced and access to water has become even more dire. 

The destruction of sewage systems also means that access of water has been more difficult. 

Water shortages across Gaza are putting livelihoods and the health of local communities, at risk. A lack of safe water can be especially deadly for children. In Gaza, due to power shortages, contaminated and high levels of salt in the water, over 90% of the water is unfit for human consumption, posing a huge health risk.

Through the decade long attacks and the ongoing pandemic, our teams have been on the ground helping the people of Gaza. Just £45 can supply and install a 300 litre water tank for drinking water for a family.  And a generous £125 can supply and install a 1000 litre water tank for domestic use for a family.
