Uthman ibn Affan reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever builds a mosque for Allah, Allah will build for him a house like it in Paradise.” (Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 450, Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 533)
As the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close, we are reminded of the blessings that Allah bestows upon us. It is a time of reflection, self-improvement, and gratitude for the countless gifts we receive. This Ramadan, we ask you to consider the gift of community.
In the small, northern city of Yellowknife, there are over 600 Muslims who are in desperate need of a place to gather, pray, and connect with one another. The old Islamic Center of Yellowknife was torn down in 2019 due to disrepair, leaving these Muslims without a home to call their own.
After a delay due to Covid-19, construction on the new Islamic Center finally began in 2022. However, without your support during these last 10 nights of Ramadan, the project may be put on hold or even cancelled.
We ask you to imagine the impact of your donation on the lives of the Yellowknife Muslim community. With a new Islamic Center, they will have a place to come together to worship, learn, and celebrate their faith. Children will have a safe and welcoming environment to attend Sunday school and youth programs. Families will be able to host events and socialize with one another, creating a sense of belonging and unity.
ISNA Canada wants to answer the call of Sadaqa Jariya, and help the brothers and sisters build their Masjid.
Building the Masjid will not only benefit the Muslim community, but will also contribute to the diversity and richness of Yellowknife's cultural landscape. The Masjid will provide a safe and welcoming space for people of all backgrounds to come together, learn from each other, and build a stronger, more connected community of Muslims.
Your donation will not only provide a physical building, but it will also provide a sense of community and belonging to those who have been without it for too long. Your contribution will be a source of blessings not only for the Yellowknife Muslim community but for you and your loved ones as well.
As we enter these last 10 nights of Ramadan, we ask you to consider the immense impact your donation can make. Imagine on having no sense of community, a place to belong to as a Muslim in a spiraling world. This is the reality our Brothers and Sisters are facing in Yellowknife.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Whoever removes a hardship from a believer, Allah will remove one of his hardships on the Day of Judgment. Whoever makes things easy for those in difficulty, Allah will make things easy for him in this world and in the Hereafter." (Sahih Muslim)

ICYK - On this 29th night of Ramadan
وعليكم السلام ورحمة الله وبركاته
On this 29th night, the last odd-night of Ramadan the Muslim community in Yellowknife will reach a Khatum ul Quran (complete reading of the Quran).
On this blessed night through your support the community has reached 2/3rd of it's fundraising goal for the new Islamic Center of Yellowknife.
There have been over 235 contributors through this campaign from across Canada and beyond. We thank each and every one of you who have contributed to this cause.
We ask that on this 29th night, we take the opportunity to remember the Muslim community in Yellowknife. Remember that Yellowknife is the ONLY major city in North America without a functioning Mosque. Remember the women and children who do not have a space of their own to practice their faith in congregation and practice their deen keeping in line with their Muslim identity.
We ask you to make Dua for the community, and for the project.
We ask you to share this campaign with your friends and family.
We ask you to dig deep and contribute to support the community in every way possible. Even the smallest contributions in these last nights of Ramadan can make a lasting impact.

O Allah, we begin this dua by praising and thanking you for the countless blessings you have bestowed upon us. We thank you for guiding us to Islam, for giving us the Quran as a source of guidance, and for allowing us to gather here today to complete its recitation as a community. We ask you to accept this khatam ul Quran from us as a sincere act of worship, and as a means to draw closer to you.
We ask you, O Allah, to bless us with the knowledge and the understanding of the Quran, and to make it a source of guidance and light in our lives. We ask you to forgive our sins and shortcomings, and to purify our hearts and our souls. We ask you to protect us from the evils of this world, and to grant us success in the Hereafter.
O Allah, we ask you to bless our families, our community, and all of humanity with the guidance of the Quran. We ask you to make us ambassadors of Islam, spreading its message of peace and compassion to all those around us. We ask you to unite us as a community, and to help us work towards the betterment of society.
O Allah, on this blessed 29th night of Ramadan, the last odd-night of Ramadan, we ask You to accept our Khatam ul Quran and to bless us with Your mercy and forgiveness. We ask You to make this completion of the Quran a means of drawing us closer to You, increasing our faith, and bringing us closer together as a community. We ask You to bless the Yellowknife Muslim community and to make the construction of the Islamic Center of Yellowknife a success. We ask You to make it a place of worship and community that will benefit the community for generations to come.
O Allah, we ask You to grant us the strength and patience to continue working towards this noble goal of building a dedicated place of worship and community center for the Yellowknife Muslim community. We ask You to make the construction of the Islamic Center of Yellowknife a smooth and successful process, and to bless all those involved in this project with the best of rewards in this life and in the hereafter.
O Allah, as we come to the end of this blessed month of Ramadan, we ask You to accept all of our good deeds and to forgive us for our sins and shortcomings. We ask You to bless us with the strength and guidance to continue living our lives according to Your teachings, and to help us become better Muslims and better human beings. We ask You to bless the Yellowknife Muslim community, and all Muslim communities around the world, with peace, unity, and prosperity.
Finally, O Allah, we ask you to accept our prayers and our supplications, and to grant us the opportunity to witness many more khatam ul Quran in the future. We ask you to make us among those who love the Quran, who live by its teachings, and who are rewarded for their efforts in the Hereafter. Ameen.
