On September 12, 2020, Mohamed - Aslim Zafis was brutally murdered outside the IMO Mosque in Etobicoke, Ontario by a hate motivated crime. Please support in helping raise funds for temporary Masjid Security at the IMO.

It's been difficult to see the body of our brother, Mohamed-Aslim Zafis, a brother who gave his time to take care of the house of Allah, slain at the doors of the IMO mosque. 

And while more investigation is needed, it has been difficult to learn about the twisted and gruesome white supremacist logic of the neo-Nazi group the killer has been linked to​

What Happened

On Sep 12, 2020, brother Mohamed- Aslim Zafis was murdered outside the IMO Mosque. A suspect has been arrested and charged with First-Degree Murder in the death of Mohamed-Aslim Zafis. The man charged with stabbing the volunteer caretaker to death outside the IMO has been affiliated with neo-Nazi groups

Shockwaves of fear and disgust have spread throughout our Muslim communities. Despite our fears, we must the find strength in one another by uniting and supporting the IMO and its community through any avenue possible

No Matter how difficult this is, we cannot look away!

Our goal is to raise $25,000 for the IMO mosque to:

- Reinforce the masjid security system

- Hire a security guard

- Provide counselling for grief and PTSD as the mosque community copes with the fear, trauma and repercussions caused by the horrific murder of our dear    brother Mohamed 

While we are in the process of applying for a government grant to secure the site, the grant does not cover some of the costs that we need to incur, like hiring a security guard for the time being.

What We Need
