Alhamdulillah, with your help we are close to completion on construction of the 8,000 sq ft Refugee Shelter with Musala. Upon completion, we will be able to accommodate more than 150 refugees at one time. We will be providing them with housing, food, healthcare, job training, language classes, legal aid, and a place to offer their five daily prayers. The Refugee Shelter with Musala is scheduled to open by the end of May 2022. Any donation you make will be spent on the completion of construction and to pay for on-going costs to provide basic services to refugees. Allah (swt) says that ”For those who give in Charity men and women and loan to Allah a Beautiful Loan it shall be increased manifold (to their credit) and they shall have (besides) a liberal reward.” – Quran (57:18).

This Mosque & Refugee Empowerment Center will be used as a transitional shelter for refugee Muslims that come from across the world to the Mexican border to gain asylum into the United States!

About Our Center & Why Mexico

Due to an agreement between the United States and Mexico, migrants who seek United States asylum can remain safely in Mexico until the immigration process is complete. This is one of the main reasons why many Muslims refugees from Afghanistan, Syria, Yemen, Ethiopia and other countries risk their lives by making the arduous journey to Mexico. 

These Muslim Refugees are victims of persecution who flee their homelands in search of hope, justice, and a safe place to raise their families and practice their faith. Most refugees suffer unthinkable tragedies and arrive here with next to nothing. Our center will offer them healing and hope. Not only will the refugees be provided basic needs like food & shelter, but they will also have access to medical health checkups, dental care, and mental health and counseling services.  We will also be providing free legal aid in order to assist asylum seekers hoping to get legal status in the United States.

Please help in this opportunity to not only help our Muslim brothers and sisters that are suffering oppression and are seeking help but to raise awareness about Islam in a community seeking guidance and where the presence of Islam is virtually absent. Help give a new life to Muslim refugees.

Beyond the Refugees 

There is also a growing population of local Hispanic Muslims that lack resources and a place where they feel safe to practice Islam as a community. This center will also be used and as a Dawah center to educate locals about Islam and will providing a prayer area, Quran classes, food pantry, and offer additional services as the center grows.

Allah says

“And whatever you spend of anything (in Allah’s Cause), He will replace it. And He is the Best of providers.”

“Charity does not in any way decrease the wealth.”
