In Aida refugee camp, parents are struggling to put food on the table and pay their children's school fees. Since October 2023, many families in the camp have lost all sources of income: labourers can no longer work in occupied Palestine, Palestinian Authority employees receive a fraction of their salary, and tourism in Bethlehem, a source of income for many, has come to a complete halt. 

Aida Youth Center, a grassroots, refugee-led organization in Aida Camp, is providing essential relief to these struggling families. The community leaders of Aida Youth Center are handing out food parcels, more than 100 every week, and providing essential items to young parents. The Center also pays for school and college fees so that children can continue their education, regardless of their families' financial situation.

One of Aida refugee camp's community leaders is Aida Youth Center's Executive Director, Anas. Anas has been working tirelessly for years to support his community, and to make sure that children and youth from the refugee camp get the opportunities that they deserve. He can usually be found speaking to camp residents of all ages, figuring out their direct and long-term needs, and then creating initiatives at Aida Youth Center to meet those needs.
