The Community Masjid Of Atlanta has served the West End Atlanta community for 50 years.  The masjid has served as a place of worship for many Muslims, and perceived as a place of security to the surrounding community.  Along with prayer the masjid facilitates Islamic instruction, dawah, and orienting new Muslims to Islam.  During Ramadan the masjid holds nightly iftars that serve up to 100 fasting Muslims.  It was during Ramadan of 1445 A.H. that it was noticed that the floor was weak, and could not sustain that capacity for another Ramadan.  During the inspection once the work commenced it was noticed that this 100 year old building had a great deal of foundational damage.

What was meant to be a simple floor replacement has now turned out to be a complete renovation.
