On January 7, 2025, a devastating fire destroyed Masjid Al-Taqwa in Altadena, a beloved house of worship that has served the Altadena, Pasadena, and neighboring communities for over 20 years. This tragedy occurred in the context of the widespread wildfires that have been ravaging California, with the Eaton Fire causing significant destruction. My name is Backer Abu-Jaradeh, and I am the owner of Bayt Construction. As a General Contractor and Electrical Engineer, I am committed to leading the effort to rebuild our Masjid.

Why This Matters

Masjid Al-Taqwa has been more than just a place of prayer—it has been a second home for so many of us. It has nurtured our faith, hosted community gatherings, and provided essential services for decades. Losing it is a deep loss, but together, we can restore it.

How You Can Help

We are raising funds 100% for the rebuilding of the Masjid—every dollar collected will go directly toward labor and materials. Bayt Construction will take on this project at cost, meaning there will be no contractor profit or compensation—only the essential costs to rebuild.
