Rohingya in Burma need your help!

Since August 25, 2017, the apartheid government of Burma has carried out series of attacks against innocent civilians, causing many to be displaced, forced out of homes, and stranded at the border without food, shelter and any other kinds of necessities. Children are impacted the most.

As the military burned down houses of the Rohingya villagers, people are fleeing for their lives, and forced to be stranded outside of their homes, and not allowed to get access to food or shelter. The situation has become increasingly worrisome. Death toll of adults, and children from mass killings, and malnourishment has increased significantly. As the rain pours down during these few days, many have died due to illnesses, and lack of shelters, and food. If the international community still keep being silent about the Rohingya's plight, this could turn to be another successful genocide that wipe out an entire minority group following the Nazi to Jews in World War II.

We don't have the exact number of how many deaths and injuries have occurred due to journalist being banned from entering the area to cover the story.

Please refer to a few links down below to learn more about the recent situation that has forced thousands upon thousands of Rohingya out of their homes.

We are an independent group of Rohingya women residing outside of Burma that is trying our best to help as many people affected as possible. We will deliver every dime you donate to those in the country currently stranded outside of their homes inshaAllah. We will also cover the cost of any processing fees so you can rest assure that every dollar you spent is going to the people that really need them. These will be spent on food, and emergency kit for people affected to survive until hopefully, the tyrannical government stop these attacks. Please donate generously, and keep them in your prayer.

Rohingya in Burma sharing their experience (Video Attached)

Dear generous friends,

We greet you with the greeting of peace. We hope you are doing well. Please accept our apology on our long overdue updates on the work.

We have received over $23,900 so far from both Launchgood, and other means from you, kind-hearted people who love to help. The funds are still being distributed in different areas that we can access especially to people who are internally displaced aka their houses have been burned down, ill or extremely poor person. At this time, there's not much difference from one Rohingya to the other since everyone is still prohibited from making any living, and are all being starved.

How the funds are distributed:

- By headcount; we distribute funds according to how many people there are in a family, one person would get around 3,000-4,000 kyat. Children younger than 2 would receive 2,000-3,000 kyat since they are still being nursed by their mothers. Funds are given more to people in need e.g. an ill person who not only needs money for food but medications.

- We are unable to distribute supplies due to restrictions in buying materials, medications, or foods in bulk hence we are distributing cash directly. In the circumstances like the one in Burma, people often have very limited choices of how they would spend their cash. All of the people we know are spending the funds on necessities for survival reason.

- So far, over 5,000 people from various villages in Buthidaung (in area still accessible without any military or security forces monitoring) have been helped. That makes up to about 500-600 families.

- Funds were sent in 3 times in total so far; in September twice total of around $14,000, and the most recent funds of $9500 were sent 3 days ago in hopes that we could venture out to more villages needing the help.

- This is temporary relief attempt to prevent starvation, and malnutrition that is already rampant. We know that it isn't the most effective way to deal with the problem, but it is what we can do so far. Unfortunately, without more pressure on the international community, and Burmese regime to stop the state-funded genocide, they will continue to need our help.

Please feel free to share your question or concern.

A video link above  is one that our distributor had filmed over the month of October. Distribution is still ongoing. Our priority is to make sure the receiver of funds, and the distributors as safe as possible, so please do not share the video revealing their faces to protect their identity.

Our first round of donations reached the Rohingya in need; more help is needed!

We greet you with a greeting of peace,

We would like to let you know that all the funds collected until last Monday (around $5760 CAD from both Launchgood and direct donations to me) September 18 has arrived in the hands of Rohingya people in Burma. We were able to distribute to a little short of 300 families in the areas affected despite the very dangerous situation that looms over them even at this very moment. As for why we did not use the funds to get food or other necessities for distribution is due to a lack of access to bulk buying, also the restrictions of selling and buying to Rohingya community put in placed by the Burmese military junta. We only hope that each family would be able to utilize the funds to the best of their needs.

We will attempt to send the funds for distribution again (God willing), so please keep those involved in this life risking tasks and all the Rohingyas back home and in Bangladesh in your prayer.

One of our connection inside Burma was in tears when he had no more money to distribute but there were still people, mostly children, who haven't eaten for days begging for some funds as well. This is why we are committed to collect as much as we can, and send these funds as often as it is safe to do so.

There is a great need for more help. Please spread the word about this project. As we mentioned before, all the administration cost on Launchgood or otherwise is covered by us, and we aim to send everything we collect to people who need it most.

Thank you all donors. May you be blessed with safety and prosperity.

Ps. We blurred all the faces of people in the photos for safety reason. They are still very vulnerable to the brutal attacks.

Yasmin & Aseeah

First round of donations will be sent to Burma Monday September 18

Assalamu'alaikum,

As our contact inside Burma had told us, many Rohingya within the country are not allowed to carry on their lives fishing or seeking provision themselves. They are now starving to death without the funds. Restrictions in buying and selling food for Rohingya is placed in order to eliminate as many Rohingya as possible other than the routine attacks.  At first we wanted to wait until we reach our goal but it seems, that there is absolutely no time to waste. We need to act as fast as possible.

Thank you for your generosity and may you stay blessed, safe, and prosperous.

If you could spread the word about this project for us to be able to help more families in need, please do so. Every penny counts. Please feel free to contact me directly should you have any question or concern.
