Help fund 667 hours for students struggling with their mental health to get one-to-one virtual mental health support sessions with Accredited Peer Supporters.

48.4% of 18-25 young adults in Malaysia experience depressive symptoms.*

Students pursuing their tertiary education are at a very critical stage, where they need to build resilience to face the challenges ahead of them. The effects of not managing one's mental health ranges from poor academic performance to extending their studies to dropping out and worst, suicide.

Through talking to Malaysian youths with poor mental wellbeing, we validated that they carry a huge burden on their shoulders to cope with daily demands and expectations. Getting professional help from psychiatrists or clinical psychologists is seen as the last resort as the idea of it feels very intimidating for them. So instead, these youth would reach out to their friends. However, although their friends mean well, sometimes they could accidentally say the wrong things and unfortunately make things worse. When this unhealthy stress accumulates, not addressing the underlying issues behind the problem may cause mental and physical health deterioration in the long run.

Not only does SAPOT fulfil this need, we do more than that!

SAPOT provides a platform where you can read and share stories about mental health struggles. For those who need extra support, we also provide the service to have a one-on-one conversation with trained recovered mental health survivors who we fondly call our SAPOT Warriors. Our future plans also include developing digitised therapy worksheets, techniques, and assessments that are simplified for personal use. There would also be experts' views on the topics shared by the community.

Training and empowering our SAPOT Warriors, who are struggling to secure employment and acceptance in society, to become Accredited Peer Supporters simultaneously addresses the lack of mental healthcare professionals as well as providing trustable and accessible mental healthcare services for young adults with poor mental well being.

Our recovered mental health survivors are trained by ImROC, an organisation under the UK's National Healthcare Services (NHS), to become pioneer Accredited Peer Supporters in Malaysia (i.e., SAPOT Warriors). Young adults who are in need of social support but are hesitant to approach clinical practitioners due to stigma and fear, would now be able to get a more informal, laid back yet still certified and evidence based guidance.

Our dream is  to help young adults become mentally resilient, empowering them to manage their thoughts and emotions so that they can be the best versions of themselves.

Sponsor a struggling student, empower a mental health warrior.
