We are a group of passionate independent filmmakers with a deep commitment to telling stories that matter, and we're ready to take this leap and create a feature film collectively. With your support, we aim to expand our short film Lifeline into a full-length feature that will explore the complex realities of Somali Muslim newcomers navigating the challenges of resettlement, while also shining a light on the strength, vibrancy, and resilience of our community.

Lifeline has already touched hearts, with Short of the Week calling it a “stunning” exploration of the immigrant experience, noting its “evocative” portrayal of displacement, belonging, and hope. But we believe this is just the beginning. As Somali creators, we know how important it is for our voices to be heard and our stories to be told in all their depth and nuance. 

In the feature film, we will continue to follow Ibtisam, a Somali youth worker struggling to connect with a Somali youth who is navigating a strenuous life challenge in a new country, uncertain of his future ahead. Through Ibtisam's journey, we will weave a rich tapestry of Somali culture, family and community into the story.

With your support, we can bring this story to a wider audience, ensuring that Somali and other  voices are represented with authenticity and care. The journey from short film to feature is an ambitious one, but we are driven by the belief that this is a story that must be told. This film is not just about resettlement—it’s about the strength of community, the power of human connection, and the hope that drives us forward in the face of adversity.
