The Hillsborough Masjid is almost ready to open its doors, but we need your immediate support to make this vision a reality. Essential renovations, including carpeting, painting, and final finishings, must be completed before we can open the doors for regular salah and programming.

The Need for the Hillsborough Masjid:

Our new masjid will be more than just a place of worship. It will feature various facilities to cater to the diverse needs of our community:

• Office Spaces: Affordable office spaces will be available for lease by community organizations and social support providers, ensuring access to critical social services.
• Counselling Room: A culturally appropriate space for counselling and family mediation services, addressing the mental health concerns facing our community

Our Projects

Lote Tree Trust runs the following programmes: 

• Dar al Quran: Educating the next generation of New Zealand-Muslims about their deen through after-school and weekend programmes
• New Zealand Zakat Foundation: Mobilizing Zakat to strengthen our community's welfare and future.
• The Halal Expo: Showcasing and supporting businesses catering to the Muslim consumer market.
• The New Zealand Muslim Leadership Collective: Empowering community workers through professional development.
• Dar al Quran Publishing: Translating and publishing classic Islamic texts for English-speaking audiences.

What we do 

At Lote Tree, our umbrella organisation, we believe that the Shariah offers the best solutions to the challenges we face as a community today. All of our programmes and initiatives are aimed at providing solutions for the individuals and families from Shariah and creating a holistic environment where we learn, develop, and give back to our community.

Ensuring the long-term sustainability of Lote Tree and the Hillsborough Masjid is our commitment. Through diversified revenue streams, including tenanted spaces, multipurpose halls, and commercial kitchens, we aim to cover operational costs and provide essential community services.
