4 years ago I came across this image by Blonder Ambitions and was completely inspired to start a similar project within my area. For the past 4 years I’ve personally created holiday homeless care packages for those in need throughout the Metro Detroit Area.
Each package contains the same basic essentials as show in the picture but also includes a hat, pair of gloves, water, holiday cookies, and a small spiritual passage. This season's demand is larger than ever before. I have partnered with The HUDA Urban Garden & Wayne State University's Future Pediatricians and will be distributing the care packages with a hot meal within 4 poorly stocked homeless shelters as well as individuals on the street. Your contribution will help provide meals and basic comfort to those in need during the up coming cold holidays.
