Salaams Dear Community, Friends, Colleagues and Family,

Our neighbors and fellow community members are facing an urgent health crisis right in our own backyard--we can follow the Prophetic model of servant leadership to address this quickly.  

In Trenton, New Jersey like a lot of urban American cities, is facing significant health disparities: 18% of residents (zip 08638) lack health insurance, and chronic diseases like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer are widespread. The city's poverty rate is 23.1%, with high unemployment 11.9% and over 35% of residents speaking a language other than English. These factors create major barriers to healthcare access, particularly for the uninsured and immigrant populations.  Our own muslim community in Trenton faces this everyday.  

At Medina Health Center, we believe everyone deserves quality care, regardless of insurance status. That's why we offer free primary care, but we need your help to sustain our lab testing programs.  It is one of the most unique non-profit experiments in the United States and a potential model for us to scale.

Every donation helps fund critical lab tests for those who would otherwise go without screenings. Early detection can prevent serious health issues, improve outcomes, and change lives. This is preventative care in action—investing in the health and well-being of our community's most vulnerable members.  And while we have so much impactful data on the number of families and people Medina has helped over the years, we know that it is the individual stories of our patients and there families that truly demonstrates the Medina Way.  

One story is of a young man named Saqib, who was suffering from an urgent stomach condition, that would prove to be life-threatening.  He had lost his health care for his family and young son only a few months earlier.  The emergency rooms refused to see him any further.  Saqib reached out to Medina as a option of last resort.  And Medina was there for him--setting up appointments and follow up's with Medina Health Center Co-founder Dr. Zahid Baig, one of the country's foremost experts in Gastroenterology.  And it is not an overstatement to say Dr. Baig helped save Saqib's life, these are the exact words that Saqib and his wife would tell Medina staff.  And this is just one story among hundreds around the real impact and change Medina is having in the local community.

Your donation will cover essential lab tests, including glucose screenings, blood work, and chronic disease panels.

• $10 provides medical supplies (alcohol swabs, bandages, lancets) for 5-7 patients
• $25 covers a comprehensive metabolic panel for 1 patient.
• $100 provides 3 months of diabetes management supplies for 1 patient.
• $250 covers chronic disease panels for 5-7 patients.
• $1,000 provides diagnostic testing for 20-25 patients, offering life-saving insights.
